He was born in Boston Massachusetts to Herbert and Ellen Thomas (who preceded him in death).
Richard traveled extensively with his military family until his own enlistment after high school graduation. A proud veteran of the US Navy for 20 years and serving in the Vietnam War he retired in Jacksonville, FL alongside his parents. He was of the catholic faith and adored his family and friends. He was known to help anyone who needed a hand.
Richard is survived by his loving partner and wife Barbara; a daughter, Paula Starr (Kenneth); a granddaughter, Alana Masters (Jason); a great-granddaughter, Cyndal Martell; two sisters, June Brewer and Pat Arenas, as well as several nieces and nephews.
At the request of Mr. Thomas, there will be no funeral services.
