Paul E. "Pat" McElvain

Paul E. "Pat" McElvain, 85 of Fleming Island, Fl. passed away at his home February 27, 2024. He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on March 17, 1938 to George Grey and Alice Louise McElvain. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruth Heitfield and husband Vernon, sister Naomi Beam and husband Jim, sons Kenneth Paul McElvain and Clay Thomas McElvain, stepson Steven Asher Jones, stepdaughter, Beth Ann Salazar, grandsons, Paul Douglas Salazar and Nathan Michael Salazar and sister-in-law Sarah Kathern Ramsey.

Pat is survived by his loving wife of over 41 years, Lou Ann McElvain, daughter, Theresa Lynn McElvain, granddaughter Kaila Ann Dennis, grandson Hunter Steven Jones, great grandsons Lane Michael Salazar and Jameson Leonard Jones, and great granddaughter, Rylee Ann Dennis. Brother-in-laws Kenneth Lee Ramsey and Keith Allen Ramsey and wife Dean. Nephews Richard Heitfield, Thomas Heitfield and wife Cheryl. Scott Keith Ramsey and wife Karen, Jeffery Kent Ramsey and wife Patricia, Kelly Grant Ramsey and wife Lisa. Nieces, Jill Denise Littrell and husband Kenneth, Jamie Lynn Bingham and husband Nelson, Deana Allen Ramsey, Vesta Beam and many other great nephews, nieces, a special hunting buddy, Rex Bowen and many other friends to mourn his passing.

Pat was supervisor of the entire officer records at Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Fl. where he received numerous outstanding awards from high ranking officers . He held an Associate Arts degree from the University of Florida. He loved to fish, enjoyed skeet shooting and was an avid deer hunter. He lived his life to the best of his ability. He was devoted to his family and dedicated to making sure all their needs were met. They were the most important aspect of his life. His wise counsel will be sorely missed by all.

A visitation for Pat will be held Friday, March 1, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home, 127 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32073. A visitation will occur 12:30 to 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 2, 2024, with 2:00 PM funeral services at Harbor Baptist Church, 1120 Clay Street, Fleming Island, FL 32003. Graveside services will be held at Hickory Grove Cemetery, 1873-1891 Idlewood Ave, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043.
