Odus George Paugh (George), age 85, of Orange Park, Florida passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 16, 2024. He was born in Estherville, Iowa, to the late Odus and Eva Paugh. He retired from the US Air Force in 1977 as a Master Sergeant after serving his country proudly for 20 years. In 1978 he received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting via the GI Bill. He then moved into a civil service job in 1979 with the US Department of Agriculture, retiring in 2000. In 2002 he was hired at Barr Systems as CFO, from which he retired the following year.
George is survived by his loving wife of almost 54 years, Kuei Mei Paugh; two sons: John Paugh (Kristin, wife), and Daniel Paugh (Kelli, wife); grandson JD, and granddaughter Harper; and a host of extended family and friends.
George was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church and served as Chair for the Presbytery of St. Augustine. In 2012 he received the Century Award from his local TOPS chapter for losing 100lbs. and maintaining his success for more than a year. He proudly served on the Board of Directors for the Developmental Learning Center (formerly DLC Nurse and Learn) from 2006-2012. But most importantly he was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be remembered as a gentle, kind, intelligent man by all who knew him. George was full of stories and enjoyed making friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in George’s honor to Kirkwood Presbyterian Church in Orange Park or the Developmental Learning Center.
