My deepest condolences to the Mitchell and Griffin families. I met Monica while our children attended Ms. Gwen's pre-school. Monica always had the most contagious smile, that brightened any room she entered. I know in heaven this smile is gleaming upon us all.

My sincere condolences to the entire Mitchell-Griffin family. I pray that God will comfort your heavy hearts and minds. To Monica's beautiful children and Husband I Thank you for sharing your Mother/Wife with me. Monica and I met at Argyle Elementary and an instant bond was formed. She became a great friend and every chance we saw each other we talked and laughed as long as we could. Our daughters attended elementary, junior high, and now high school together. I saw Monica at open house at Oakleaf High School just three months ago and if  I knew that would be my last time seeing and talking with her I would have hugged her tighter and longer. I would have told you her "Thank you for being a true friend for 15+ years". Always kind, always caring, always encouraging was Monica's nature. God makes no mistakes and I know you are in Heaven my friend smiling down with that big beautiful smile you always greeted me with. I am forever grateful to have you in my life. It is well says the Lord... I am at peace because I know you are in good hands.

Till now,I still cant believed that" YOUR" gone......but your memories that you left will be forever remembered.Monica was a such cheerful, friendly to her  co- workers,friends ,family, patients and to everyone she met. Monica was a real true cheerleader for all she never met a stranger and always treated others with respect and dignity. If she was having a bad day she didn't allow her situation to spill out on others. Now my dear niece, friend, and Veteran is a cheerleader for God almighty and his only Son, Jesus our Savior. I feel that when Monica transitioned to life everlasting she greeted God and Jesus telling them in her favorite phrases "right, right, yea,yea,!!!" Knowing Monica I  am sadden but at peace because God has spoken and never make mistake. We going to miss her presence,smile, motivation, determination, voice; however, know that spiritually she is here with us. For several days, thinking about Monica the hit song from the movie Cooley High entered my spirt, "How do we say goodbye to yesterday?" The words, lyrics, and music sadden me more; however, God comforted and allowed me to answer the question. For me I will never say goodbye to yesterday but cherish the moment upon me, build and correct yesterday, execute a plan for the minutes to come, build a good legacy in life and be ready for the afterlife. I thank God and Jesus for allowing Monica to enter into this world, thank her Mom, Jean for keeping her grounded with her family, Diane and Bessie Lee for helping Jean rear such a phenomenal woman,her unique and healthy relationship with her Aunt Jackie, her unconditionally love brother Tony and her children. Also thank her father, Melvin for bringing her home. Like Diane said, "We love Monica she  is with her Mom, grandparents, other relatives and friends, and we will all be together one day." God has spoken because we were given the invitation for life at conception with no cancellation. To the children, please know that you all are loved like your Mom and stay connected to family. We love you all so much our hearts are sadden and it take time to heal please know that you all are not alone.

The nursing profession lost one of its best but now you have your wings. I know you will guide us to make the right choices for our patients. 
To your beautiful family my heart goes out to you and words can not express how truly sorry I am for your loss.

God knew what he was doing when he made Monica. She had a heart of gold and a spirit that could light a dark room. She was a fantastic RN and friend. She loved her husband and children beyond words, she always talked about how proud of each of ya'll she was. Although she is no longer hear on earth with us, I know she is sitting on the pearly gates, eating, drinking, talking, gesturing, laughing and watching over all of us. I am so blessed you were my friend and you will forever be in my heart. Cheers my friend, till we meet again!

Monica I only met you once at My brother and his Elisa wedding. You were so beautiful. Now you're an angel =)

LG, Kenisha, KJ, Kya and Tikobe, I pray that God will grant you the strength, comfort and peace to you through the days ahead.  Please accept my condolences and know that I am here for all of you.  I am honored and blessed to have been her bestie, her sister and to be the Godmother of her children.  I still can't believe that I will no longer hear her voice, her laughter and her calling me Deanna.  I will treasure the memories we made over the past 24 years and comfort in knowing that she is at peace with Our Lord and Savior.  I will miss and love her always and forever!

My condolences go out to Griffin and Mitchell family. I met Monica over 20 years ago, when Kanisha came to ask if my little girl (Tiara) could come out to play. I  would alway see her in the neighborhood with that bright beautiful smile. She will truly be missed, but never forgotten.

My condolences to LG,Kenisha,KJ,Kya and Tikobe. My prayers are with you. It has taken me a few days to process that my sister, my friend Monica is no longer here. Monica and I have shared so much since nursing school in NJ. I am going to miss our phone calls, her laughter and calling me Angela Davis when I pick up the phone. My heart is broken but I take comfort in knowing she enjoyed life and that I was able to share over 20+ yrs of life with her. I thank God for bringing us together and our friendship. Our last phone call was on 12/23 and we wished each other a Merry Christmas. I will treasure all the memories. I love you Monica.
