Mildred Marie "Millie" Chenoweth, age 90, passed away on December 30, 2024, at Haven Hospice in Orange Park, Florida. Born June 19, 1934, in Lyndhurst, New Jersey to Charlotte and Ralph Young, she was the youngest of six children.
After graduating from high school, Millie worked at Prudential Life Insurance in Newark, New Jersey before getting married in 1954 and starting her career as a Navy wife and homemaker.
Millie’s life was full of adventure and travel. She lived in Puerto Rico and Japan and enjoyed her travels to Korea, Okinawa, Taiwan, annual trips to New England, and five trips to her beloved Ireland. She passed this passion for travel down to her children and granddaughter.
Millie’s hobbies included women's and mixed league bowling, ceramics, and square dancing.
Millie is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, Denver Chenoweth, Jr. and her three daughters, Charlotte Ann, Debra (Chris Bravo), Kara (Don Bealle) and one granddaughter, Catherine Marie Bealle. She is also survived by her loving sister, Gertie Peterson, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to Kathy Haeussner (St. Catherine) for keeping Millie connected to her faith for the past couple years, as well as being there in her final days and to the Haven Hospice staff for their loving care and support.
At her request, no funeral service will be held.
