Mary lived her life as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling to visit family and friends, and was an active member of the Florida Campers on Mission and her local Crosspointe Church of Fleming Island, Florida.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Eben Edgar Caddell and Gladys Leona Gray Caddell; her brother Marlin Caddell, her sister Myrtis Silvers, and her grandson, Derrick Nixon.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Marvin Nixon, her brother Douglas (Sandra) Caddell, her sister Yvonne Schuessler, two children Dale (Brenda) Nixon of Jacksonville, Florida and Cindy (Todd) Freeman of Bristol, Virginia; six grandchildren, Thalassa Crews (Tim Mueller), Jarrod Nixon, Lydia, Nathan, Matthew (Devann), and Daniel Freeman and three great-grandchildren, Ayden and Wesley Crews and Addicus Freeman.
Funeral services will be held 6:30 PM, Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Crosspointe Church Fleming Island, 1871 County Road 220, Fleming Island, FL. Visitation will be held from 5-6:30 PM at the church.
