It is with sadness we announce the passing of Mary Cranford Milam on May 15, 2018. She was born on October 8, 1930, in Jacksonville, Florida. Mary grew up in Atlantic Beach attending Fletcher High School before attending a school in New England. Mary was a member of the 1950 Debutante Coterie and a lifetime member of Timuquana Country Club. She was a communicant of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Mary spent much of her adult life doing volunteer work with Junior League helping handicapped children. She was later employed by Duval County Schools at Love Grove Elementary School where she worked with special needs children until her retirement. Mary had a love of animals as was evident in the attention she bestowed upon her own beloved pets. Her desire to help others touched many. She loved people and never met a stranger. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is predeceased by her husband, Reverend George Milam, parents: Mr. and Mrs. James . A Cranford, Sr., and her sister-in-law, Mrs. James A Cranford, Jr. She is survived by her brother, Dr. James A Cranford, Jr., as well as her nieces and nephews: James A. Cranford III, Charles L. Cranford (Cindy), William Bolling Cranford (Ann), Stuart Cranford Stokes (Marvin), Mary Cranford Figliola; numerous great nieces and nephews; and a great, great niece and nephew.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at St. Marks Episcopal Church.
