Mary Ann Helen Belfiore DeSalvo, born April 22, 1940, grew up in New York City. Our mom was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and also best friend to all of her family. She loved all of us so completely, and shared her love with us in so many ways -- through incredible food, funny stories, creating wonderful and memorable holiday experiences and in everyday life. She loved traditions such as making butter cookies and clams at Christmas, and making even the littlest of life's accomplishments for those she loved feel special, whether it was a graduation, communion, or birthday. She was an avid reader, and loved to go to the beach and travel with her family.
On February 14, 2021, she reunited peacefully with her beloved mother, Concetta, in heaven.
Mary Ann spent her life raising and caring for her family, which was always her first priority. She also found the energy to run a successful family business along with her mother and sister, Belfiore Dress in Newburgh, NY, as well as attend every sports and school event without exception. She later started a second career as a bank teller at Community First Credit Union in Orange Park, FL. She was greatly admired by her three children and their spouses, 2 nieces, and sister, who was her best friend, all of whom survive her: Denise DeSalvo Peckham (John), Joseph DeSalvo (Tina), Russell DeSalvo (Cindy), Mary Ann Sicolo Sherman, Joann Sicolo Redner and Patricia Belfiore Sicolo. Five grandchildren also share an endless number of fond memories of their Mom Mom: Nicholas Peckham, Danielle DeSalvo, Thomas Peckham, Matthew DeSalvo and Abby DeSalvo. Mary Ann will be remembered and greatly missed by her family and friends.
