Avie Lorraine Brantly Stewart, 99, of Orange Park, FL peacefully went into the arms of Jesus on February 10, 2020. She was born in Atlanta, GA on December 21, 1920, but lived a full and Godly life in the Jacksonville, FL area.
She had been a member of Avondale Baptist Church, but recently was affiliated with HighPoint Community Church, Orange Park, FL.
Although her life was spent as a wife of 61 years and a mother of 73 years, she did work along side of her husband as a supportive business partner of Stewart Lighting. She loved studying and reading the Bible. Her passions were for Christian ministries, both at home and abroad, which she supported in person when she was able, and then financially.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, George Leland Stewart. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Stewart Jennings, two grandsons, Ryan Stewart Jennings (Jamie) and Lance Jennings; two great grandchildren, Everett Michael Jennings and Gavin Tyler Jennings. Her “other” family of 19 years was the loving and caring staff and residents of the Allegro in Fleming Island, FL. Most recently she was cared for by Community Hospice of NE FL, who lovingly and compassionately supervised her final journey into the Gates of Heaven.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Community Hospice & Palliative Care of NE FL or HighPoint Community Church, 84 Knight Boxx Rd., Orange Park, FL 32065 A graveside service will be at 2:00 pm on February 14, 2020 at Restlawn Cemetery , 2600 Ribault Scenic Dr., Jacksonville, FL.
