Laurence, fondly known as Larry, was Florida born but traveled all over the world during his many years of service in the Navy. He was a P-3C flight engineer and loved flying. After retiring from the military as an E-6/AD1(Aviation Mate First Class), he began working at FRCSE (Fleet Readiness Center Southeast) eventually becoming a WG-10 Journeyman in the ACM/SMM (Air Craft Mechanic/Sheet Metal Mechanic) trades at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL.
Larry is survived by his wife Janis and three children, Angela, Shelly, Jason, and several grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Lynn and brother Jim. Larry was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Elizabeth.
Larry loved life and lived each moment to the fullest and his heart was as big as his personality. Larry enjoyed many adventures riding his Harley and was an avid NASCAR fan. While Larry left us far too soon, he will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and co-worker. Friends and family are encouraged to enjoy the world around them, as he did, in his honor.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hardage-giddensrivermead.com for the Durham family.
