June Pace Scott

JUNE PACE SCOTT (Feb. 18, 1916), formerly of Spartanburg, SC, left this world on Sept. 2, 2014, to join all her loved ones who have gone before her, especially her son, James W. Branch, deceased (1960), and her deceased spouse William R. Scott, and Judge Charles M. Pace, both of Spartanburg, SC. She is also predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Cannington, Lenox, GA. Having lived in Spartanburg, SC, for many years she was active in her community, and was especially proud to have become a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and to have served as President of Spartanburg Ladies Legal Auxiliary. She most recently resided at The Terrace of Fleming Island, in Fleming Island, Florida, near the home of her daughter, Janice Howard Shockley. Mrs. Scott is also survived by her grandsons: Jon Michael Barker (Sue) and James Rycroft, granddaughter Debra Rycroft, great grandsons: Wren Garrett (Valentina), Scott Howard and David Howard (Kami); great granddaughter Lauren Cannington and her parents, Tim & Kim Cannington, great granddaughter Madeleine Barker; great great granddaughter, Elana Nicole Garrett; sister Louise Rigsby; brother James B. Cannington, daughter-in-law Claudette Branch Barker (Richard D.). Mrs. Scott’s stepdaughters are Sylvia Scott Quandt (Fred), Mary Scott Snyder (Will), Martha Pace Ponce, Carol Pace, stepson Charles B. Pace (Cindy), step granddaughters, Nellie Lovelace and Rachel Meehan, step grandson Ryan Quandt and great step grandson, Charlie Meehan and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Scott and her husband Bill moved from Spartanburg, SC, to Magnolia Point Golf and Country Club, Green Cove Springs, FL. Which she considered would be her final home. Circumstances changed and she and her husband, Bill, moved to Tennessee to be near her daughter, and again changes caused her move back to the Clay County area where she resided since 2011. Mrs. Scott was a member of Orange Park United Methodist Church.
