Janet Norton Erwin Anguas was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, on September 26, 1946. She grew up in Morristown before graduating from the University of Tennessee School of Nursing in Memphis. After marrying Dr. Edwin Anguas in 1969, the couple lived in Miami and Jacksonville before relocating to Orange Park in 1972, where Dr. Anguas established his optometric office. Janet was a dedicated stay-at-home mother, raising their three daughters. She also volunteered with the Lion’s Club, Waste Not Want Not, local schools, and her church Altar Guild, in addition to working in her husband’s office. Janet passed peacefully due to complications associated with Alzheimer’s Disease surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Edwin Anguas; her three daughters, Julie Masterson, Allison Keiter, and Dewin Barnette; and her six grandchildren.
