Eleanor El T. Patak Gress

Mrs. Eleanor Theresa Patak Gress, 90, of Jacksonville, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2011. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Louis Gress; her parents, Charles and Rose Murtha Patak; sisters Rosemary and Christina, and brothers Charles, Harold, Willliam, Edward, and Joseph.

She was the loving cherished Mother of daughter Judy and husband Phil Rampolla of Hollis, NH, sons Donald and wife Pat Gress of Hicksville, NY, and Lawrence Gress of Fleming Island, FL; Loving Sister of Robert Patak of TX and Francis Patak of SC; beloved Grandmother of Jeanmarie and husband Paul Koonts, Kathy and husband Tony Howard, Nicole Gress and partner Wayne Nicholson, Debbie and husband Brian Brassil, Larry Gress, Jr. and partner Mike Spegal, Matt Gress and partner Cindy Bushey, Steven and wife Amy Gress, Danielle Laymon, Michael Laymon; and loving Great Grandmother of Gavin, Ryan, Jared, Ethan, Meredith, Andrew, Brandon, Luke, Aubrey, Addison, Annie, Tommy, Tyler, Kimberly and Robbie; and 28 nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was born in Greenpoint, NY, one of 10 children, and her family moved to College Point, NY, where she met and married Louis. They moved to Franklin Square, NY where they raised their family for 55 years until they relocated to Jacksonville in 2006. Eleanor resided at Wyndham Lakes where she was loved by all.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 13, at Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home, 127 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park, FL 32073. There will be a mass of the resurrection at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, (Historic Chapel) 4124 Loretto Rd, Jacksonville at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 14.
