Dorothy (Dolly) was the daughter of the late John and Florence Tindall and was born in Melbourne, FL on June 24, 1924. She and Roy settled in Jacksonville upon his retirement from the US Navy as he began a second career at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station. A homemaker, she was active in the Garden Club and Lake Shore Baptist Church.
She is survived by her closest family: brother-in-law, Arthur F Ryan of Greenville, SC; nephews Peter W Ryan (Erin), also of Greenville, and David A Ryan (Jamie) of Chesnee, SC; great nieces and nephews Austin, Allison, Preston and Annlee Grace Ryan. Dorothy was loved by many friends and extended family who will miss her greatly.
The family would like to thank the Presbyterian House, Heartland Hospice Care and Tresa Sasser for their loving care in her final years and days.
Due to COVID-19, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on Friday July 30th, 2021 at noon at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32073 presided by Pastor Ron Dempsey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lake Shore Baptist Church and/or a charity of one’s choice.
