Zaida Ortiz

Born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico on April 10, 1941, she and her family moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1960, finally settling in Florida in 1976.

She was married to her beloved spouse, Eligio Ortiz, for 35 years who went to be with the Lord in 1993.

As a beloved member of her community, Zaida was a resident of Volusia County for 40 years and took great pride in her Hispanic roots and as a Homemaker. She had a passion for cooking, gardening, and being a good friend. She will be remembered for her sharp wit, strength, and unwavering Faith in the Lord.

She is survived by her son, Jose Ortiz (wife Leonora), her daughters, Betsy Orefice (husband Frankie), and Cyndy Valence (husband Chuck), and 4 grandchildren, Nicole, Jeremy (wife Caitlin), Kelsey and Zachary. She is predeceased by her siblings, José Martinez and Margarita Martinez.

A graveside service for Zaida will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Hollywood Cemetery, 1031 S Carpenter Ave, Orange City, FL 32763.
