Tamara (Tammy) Theresa Wunderly of Deland Florida, age 60, passed away on Monday,
September 18, 2023. Tammy passed surrounded by loved ones after a valiant battle with
Alzheimer’s Disease.
Tammy was an extremely hard-working, driven woman who accomplished so much in her life.
She was born in Tampa, Florida on September 14, 1963. Soon after graduating from Coral Park
High School, Tammy attended Seminole State College receiving an associate’s degree. At age
23, Tammy started out working as an EMT/firefighter for the Orange County Fire Department.
She worked her way up to becoming Battalion Chief. Then after 27 years, she retired as Interim
Division Chief of Communications.
Everyone who met Tammy recognized her selflessness and passion for helping others. Tammy
was a faithful and dedicated volunteer at Children’s Burn Camps, the Harbor House of Central
Florida, and the Russell House of Atypical Children where she also served as a Board Member.
Tammy had a special place in her heart for every person and animal she came across.
Tammy is survived by her parents, Deborah Wunderly and Clint Wunderly, her two younger
brothers, Clint Wunderly, Jr. and Steve Wunderly, her aunt, June Weisman, her niece, Alexis
Wunderly, and her nephew, Diego Wunderly along with many, many more family and friends.
She will be greatly missed but will always be remembered as a gift to us all.

Celebration of Life will be held at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church (5873 N. Dean Rd., Orlando)
on September 30, at 10:00 a.m.
