Ruth Winder of Deltona passed away April 15th at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial. Ruth was born in New York City in 1926. She attended NYU, trained in music, and worked as an executive secretary before marriage to her beloved Simon Winder in 1948. She then became loving and devoted mother to Gary, Susan, Michael and Pearl. Ruth was a talented pianist and also taught piano at home. Her compassion and love extended beyond our family in her volunteer work with the NY Mental Health Association, and after the family moved to Florida, continued with the Grandparents Program of the Florida Council on Aging, where she worked helping special needs children in elementary school. Ruth and Simon also helped to found Temple Shalom in Deltona. Simon Winder passed away in 1984. Ruth leaves Gary Winder, Susan and Charlie Rivera, Michael and Vicki Winder, Pearl and Jean Freier; grandchildren Zoe and Sam, and Ariel and Shaun; and great grandson, Luke.
