Ronald Dean McPherson

DeBary FL, age 78, passed away on January 18, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Mildred, and sister and brother-in-law, Carol & Jerry Byerly. Ron was an Educator in the Volusia County School System for most of his career and retired as Principal of Timbercrest Elementary School in 1994.

In college, he was a tenor soloist, a member of the school coral group, and several Quartets which traveled extensively. After his Bachelor’s in Music, he earned his Master’s Degree in Education. In addition to his professional career, Ron was a Red Cross Disaster Relief volunteer, a Minister of Music, a local D.J., a private pilot, a member of several Quartets, a dedicated member of the Deltona Alliance Church, a member of the audio/visual effects team for the Church, and numerous other volunteer roles. As a member of the Giving Love, Encouragement, Affirmation Ministry (GLEAM) Board of Directors, Ron was responsible for the audio/visual materials for comforting retirement home patients, especially those with Dementia and Alzheimer’s.

A memorial service will be held Saturday January 23, 2016 11:30 AM at the Deltona Alliance Church, 921 Deltona Boulevard, Deltona, FL 32725. (386) 574-6046. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Church’s Transformation Project.
