Linda Sue Crews, age 68, was permanently cured of cancer and arrived at her new home in heaven on August 10, 2021. Linda was born in Baltimore, MD, to William and Leah Robertson in 1953, and she trusted Christ as her Savior as a child. She attended Tennessee Temple College, where she met and married her husband of 49 years, Steve Crews, in 1972. Linda and Steve started their family in Sanford, FL and eventually settled in Deltona, FL. She is survived by her husband Steve, her son Bruce and his wife Becky, her daughter Jennifer and her husband Ben, as well as four grandchildren.
Linda was a kind, loving person who was devoted to her family and enjoyed teaching and helping others. She served as a kindergarten teacher at a Christian school and later performed clerical work for many years. Linda faithfully attended and actively served in her church by teaching Sunday School and AWANA classes, helping in every way possible, and visiting those in need. She always looked for opportunities to show God’s love and share the gospel message of God’s free gift of salvation with everyone she met.
Linda was known by her close friends and family as a thrifty person who took coupons and garage sales to a new level. She knew how to find the best bargains, and she always kept an extra refrigerator, freezer, and spare room to hold her purchases until she could pass them along to someone else. Linda enjoyed outdoor exercises such as walking, cycling, and swimming/floating in her (very warm) pool. She was an avid gardener who grew roses and many other beautiful plants.
Linda’s other hobbies included scrapbooking, making personalized greeting cards, and playing Scrabble. As her family learned, Linda easily maintained her title as Scrabble champion even while she was ill or recovering from her many medical procedures. She never missed an opportunity to have fun with her grandchildren, and she made many happy memories with them visiting theme parks, riding roller coasters, and splashing in the pool. Linda was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but it is a comfort to know that she is in heaven forever in the presence of her Savior whom she loved so much.
