Deltona, FL.-Joseph Pescatello Sr. 80, formerly of New London CT for most of his life, a true green and gold soul, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on September 18, 2022. Proud husband and father who dedicated his life not only to his family but also to serving his country and community. He was born November 2, 1941. Predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Lena Pescatello Sr, and a brother Anthony Pescatello Jr.
He leaves behind his true soulmate and beloved wife of many years Donna (Murphy) Pescatello of FL. Three daughters Tammie-Jean LaFlamme (Russell) and Patty-Lynn Gilchrist (Craig) both of CT and Julie-Ann Maheu (Michael) of FL, a son Joseph Pescatello Jr (Stephanie) of FL. Ten Grandchildren Brooke, Danielle, and Kelsey LaFlamme, Kyle and Jason Musella, Ishmael Gilchrist, Zachary, Christian and Alexandra Maheu and Joseph Pescatello III, as well as five great grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. A sister Marie Reid (Bill) and a brother Bobby Pescatello both of TX. A sister-in-Law Sandy Pescatello of CT.
A graduate of New London High School, Joseph served in the US Navy from 11/1959-11/1965. He worked at Electric Boat and the Laborers Local 547 before retiring.
Joseph raced at Waterford Speedbowl in the late 60’s early 70’s racing his stock car “TJSPECIAL #24”. He was a volunteer firefighter and EMT at Montville Volunteer Fire Department form 1972-1986 before becoming a lifetime member. In the 80’s Joseph coached baseball for the New London American Little League, coaching the Sons of Italy. However, his GREATEST LOVE will forever be coaching in the New London PBA Football league for more than 20 years. Joseph also enjoyed dancing, bowling, and golfing.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 15, 2022, from 10-2 at the VFW 382 Boston Post Road Waterford, CT 06385.
Dignity Memorial of Deltona FL will oversee arrangements. Joseph’s Military Honor Services will be held at 10:00 am on 11/3/22 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery 5525 US-1 Mims, FL 32754

New London, CT 06320. Proceeds will be used to benefit the NL Youth Football league in his honor.
