Deltona – Jose Benitez, 92 years old passed away on September 8, 2022 at Advent Health Fish Memorial surrounded by family.
Jose M. Benitez Sr., was born in Barranquilla, Colombia to Juan Benitez and Concepcion Acuña. He moved to the United States in 1967. He was a weaver for Pontiac Weaving in Rhode Island for over 25 years. He was a hardworking man who provided for his wife, Olga Benitez, and their seven children. He brought the entire family to the United States for a better life and new beginning.
Jose M. Benitez Sr., was a cheerful man that loved playing dominos, watching the news/sports, listening to music, traveling and eating all kinds of foods and enjoyed buying lotto tickets. He loved working and providing for his family while still enjoying the simple things in life.
Although Jose M. Benitez Sr. passed away as a widow, he made it possible for his wife and kids to live a better life in the United States and because of this, he has left an amazing legacy for his four generations to be proud of, proving that hard work, love and dedication is a true success.
Mr. Jose M. Benitez Sr., is survived by his brothers: Federico and Nicolá Benitez, his daughters Margot E. Sandoval, Zenith DaSilva, Enis Benitez, Esther Salas San and sons, Jose M. Benitez Jr., Alberto Benitez, Ralph Benitez, and Jairo Benitez.
Mr. Benitez’s grandchildren are as followed: Priscilla DaSilva, Eduardo Perez, Ashley DaSilva, Lariza Guerra, Peggy Choudhry, Rene Sandoval, Henry Sandoval, Shawn Sandoval, Jairo Jr. Benitez, Christina Benítez, Regina Fay, Olga Melendez, Marelvis Benitez, Jill Benitez, Steven Benitez, Alberto Jr. Benitez, Ralph Jr. Benitez, Christian Benitez, and Cristian Salas San, Dair Benitez, Rosa Benitez, and Aurelia Salas.
As well as 15 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren leaving his mark forever on this earth.
Jose M. Benitez Sr., will be extremely missed by all his family and friends.
A gathering of family and friends for Jose will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763. Entombment will take place at noon on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 in Deltona Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family in honor of Mr. Benitez to help with funeral expenses.
