Joan Kathleen Degraff, also known as Joanie or Gramma "D" to her grandchildren, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2024, in Orange City, Florida, at the age of 92. She was born in Clifton Springs, New York on December 30,1931. Joan was a loving wife to David Degraff and a cherished mother to Lloyd Ingram Jr., Mark Ingram, Steven Ingram, Nancy Degraff, Richard Degraff, Kathy Fager Degraff, Robert Degraff, and Joel Degraff. She is survived by her spouse, David Degraff, her sister Barbara Burke, six children, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and four great-great grand children. Joan was preceded in death by her parents John P Lewis and Carolyn Lewis, her sister Betty Jane Lewis, her first husband, Lloyd Ingram Sr., her brother John Gwillym Robert Lewis (Jack) and her sons Mark Ingram and Robert (Bobbie) Degraff.
Joan, a graduate of Penn Yan Academy Class of 1949, and also a Licensed Practical Nurse, was a woman of many talents and passions. She enjoyed playing the organ at church, painting china, and creating beautiful watercolor paintings. Her love of music and art has left a lasting legacy of memories for her family and friends.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Joan's home going will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 10 am at Volusia County Baptist Church. Dignity Memorial in Orange City, Florida, is assisting with the funeral arrangements. Joan will be remembered for her kind and compassionate nature, always making time to listen and comfort those in need. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
