She was born in Portland, Maine on February 11, 1932, where she met and married her true love, Francis, and they shared fifty nine wonderful years. Francis said she was “one in a million”. Together. they had six children and in 1990, moved to Florida to be closer to them.
Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and homemaker. She is survived by her loving husband, Francis, her six children, John Flaherty of DeLand, Justin Flaherty of Deltona, Tracy Quinones of Kissimmee, Faith Corneau of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Melissa Flaherty of Kissimmee, and Rachel Pedulla of Deltona. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, as well as her sister, Jackie Campbell.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 1, 2010 from 6-8 pm at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City and a Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, September 2nd at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, 1310 Maximilian Street, Deltona.
