Orange City, FL, age 86, passed away on November 8, 2010 at Savannah Court in Orange City. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 1963. She is survived by her children, Fred (Pam) Edwards of Centreville, MD, Ron (Karen) Edwards of DeBary, FL, Jim (Nancy) Edwards of Downingtown, PA and Barbara (Rob) Hughes of Muncy, PA; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and another on the way; many nieces and nephews.
She was born on November 15, 1923 in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Samuel Henry and Edith Rose Hudson Tranter. She was a bookkeeper for the Pennsylvania State Medicaid Department prior to her retirement and moving to Florida. Dorothy was
a member of the DeBary Presbyterian Church, volunteered at the Hospice of Volusia/Flagler Resale Shop and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Nov. 13th at 11 am at DeBary Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
