David W. Meyer was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on January 7, 1930, a son of George and Clarice Meyer. He attended Scito County schools and after graduating from Portsmouth East High School, he entered Cincinnati Bible Seminary to study for the Christian Ministry.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eva, a son, Jerry (Earlene) of Plant City, FL; a daughter, Sheryl (David) Galisen of Omaha, NE. There are three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. David has a loving sister, Lois Bierley of Columbus, OH; two nieces, a nephew and many cousins.
In retirement, he served as volunteer chaplain at Fish Memorial and Florida Hospitals and The Cloisters of DeLand. Memorial Services are planned at Plymouth Avenue Christian Church on Saturday, February 7th at 10 am and at The Cloisters on Monday, February 9th at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the David and Eva Meyer Scholarships at either Johnson University Florida, 1011 Bill Beck Blvd., Kissimmee, FL 34744 or Cincinnati Christian University, 2077 Glenway Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45204 would be a fitting tribute.
