He Unger family moved to Pine Hills, FL In 1965!  We were very blessed to meet David Meyer Who in tern introduced us to our heavenly father and his son Christ Jesus!  My family is so thankful to David and Eva Meyer for their witness to saving so many souls!  We pray for your loss Eva, Jerry and Sheryl along with all Dave's extended family.  Dave we thank you so much and you'll live in our hearts forever!

Don't exactly know how this is working but it doesn't seem that you got a message from us!  The Unger family was very blessed to know  David Meyer in 1965 when we moved from Ohio to Pine Hills, Florida!  Dave introduced my family to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ!  The many years that spanned our lives since meeting Dave and Eva Meyer have filled our hearts with joy!  You have been instrumental in saving so many souls including our family's!  You will live in our hearts as so many others forever!  We pray for God's blessing for peace in Eva, Jerry and Sheryl's lives and their extended family's.

Rest in Peace David.  Thank you for all the kind words you have shared with our family during very sad times.  You were a great man and have earned your place in heaven over and over.

Eva Lou, So sorry to hear of David's passing. But rejoicing that we will see him in Heaven. I have great memories of when you were at Southside. That was a very long time ago. I am the youngest daughter of Mildred and John Williams.

It is with a sad heart at hearing Pastor Dave has passed. My prayers are with his family. I attended  Pine Hills Christian Church. He was really good to my family. I sat and listened to many inspiring sermons some that had a huge impact in my life and also he was the one who Baptized me. R.I.P.

I am honored he called to check on me around the time of my heart surgery a few years ago. I have such fond memories of him telling his jokes and laughing, baptizing us Noblitt kids and being a friend to our family long past the Pine Hills days. I will never forget the first time I met David Meyer.  It was at church camp at Lake Aurora Christian Service Camp.  My older sister was a camper that week and I was just hanging around the camp because my Grandparents, Larry and Elaine Wagner were camp managers and my family was visiting them.  He allowed me to sit at his table with my sister for one of the dinners and I kept spilling my milk...but he just made silly comments and let me stay. I really enjoyed him then and later when he was my minister at Plymouth Avenue Christian Church where he always checked on me and my little girls whenever I had a problem or one of us was sick.  I will always be grateful to him for his love and encouragement through the years.  Thank you David Meyer!  Please give my Grama and Grampa Wagner a hug for me after you meet Jesus face to face. Love you!

My mom lives at The Cloisters on the assisted living floor.  She is virtually blind and has bouts with dementia.  She doesn't recognize people "on sight," and Rev. Meyer always made an effort to call out her name in a pleasant and loud voice.  She would light up like a beacon upon hearing him! He never failed to take a minute or two and have a conversation with her.  It meant so much to her when someone beyond family would care enough to always stop and talk. Mom always told me about seeing Rev. Meyer each time, relating the joy he gave her.

Making the effort, assisted by Jennifer from Activities,  to attend the Tuesday chapel services to hear Rev. Meyer was so therapeutic for my mother!  Because it was Rev. Meyer she would get out and attend!  God Bless him!

Rev. Meyer extended the hand of our Lord throughout his daily life.  He made a meaningful difference in my mothers world.  We all could do much worse than to hold Rev. Meyer as an example of how to live and witness in our challenging lives.  His family and all of us have been blessed by his presence and many, many people are better for having known him.

Was saddened to learn of David's passing, but he lived a full and noble life.  I got to know David through my Dad, as they were tennis partners for some time and he honored our family by officiating at both my parents memorial services.  My thoughts and prayers are with you. Oh, what a friend we have in Dave Meyer.  We do not have words to adequately tell "The David Meyer Story".  He was true to his calling and diligent in working-out his obedience to his Creator.

It is fitting to memorize the words of Jesus in John 4:34, in celebration of Dave's life. i.e. "My food is to do the will of Him who sent me, and to accomplish His work".  That was the food that sustained David.

For the short time I have had to know Chaplain David Meyer, and to have experienced his preaching and humorous presentations, he has impacted my life for good in his service to God. He will be greatly missed and cherished in memory.  My thoughts and prayers are with the family, and I am grateful to the family for having shared him with us as a faithful servant of the Lord. I will always treasure the times I spent at Pine Hills 1st Christian Church.  I remember David literally crying during some of his sermons.  And he always caught my attention and I loved hearing him preach.  We were all so young back then, I was in grade school through high school when he ministered us. Eva, Jerry and Cheryl...your husband and dad was the sweetest person I've ever known. His smile and laughter will be forever etched in my memories~ When you are a kid, most ministers don't seem so fun, but not Dave....we all loved him so much, we wanted to go to church camp when he was heading it. His sermons were so touching, easy to grasp and he always put a personal touch to it. I'll always be grateful for him doing daddy's services,they both loved him so. He helped me so much after daddy died, calling to check up and see how I  was doing. Jesus hand picked him for sure to lead us to the cross. Ralph and I feel very blessed that he was in our lives as kids and adults. He will always hold a special place in my heart. Love to you all~

David meant so many things in my life that it's hard to put into words how much losing him means. He was the most wonderful man and the most selfless man I've ever met and I will miss him and his love soooo much.

I am saddened by the loss of David I only met him once at a memorial service last year at Deltona Memorial Gardens but for some reason he left a lasting impression on me. Not only with his "Rearview Mirror" story but also with the way he seemed to be touching a big part of what I have been going through in life. I cant get in my car now and look at my rearview mirror and not think of him and his story that day. If he touched me in such away with just knowing him for a few hours I can only imagine the way he touched people he had known for years. It has been my honor to have met such a man. Thanks David for the words to live by you were truly a great man.

I am so sad to hear of David's passing. 
I have to say that he enriched our lives so much. When Rob & I were going to get married and went to him for pre marriage counseling, he gave us the best advice. This year, we'll be married 21 Years. He has helped so many families be strong in more ways than one. David, you will be missed.

It has been a great privilege to know David Meyer and his wife Eva.  When I served as President of Cincinnati Christian University, I often visited them at their home in Florida.  I was always deeply impressed and inspired by their love for people and their faithful ministry as they tirelessly cared for those who were lonely, grieving, or simply in need of a friend.  David once told me, "I want to be remembered as a faithful shepherd who loved the Lord's people."  That's exactly how I will remember David.  May God bless his family and all of the friends he has served over the years.
