She was born in Newark, NJ to Louis and Josephine Scerbo on October 7, 1946. She attended Irvington High School (NJ), graduating in 1964. After the tragic death of her daughter Carla in 1996, she decided to devote her life to helping others and worked passionately as a substance abuse counselor for nearly twenty years.
Cynthia is survived by her loving longtime companion, Eliud Pagan. She also leaves behind her best friend, and devoted sister, Florence Dennis, of Bedminster, NJ; and her son, Mario Macaluso, and grandson, Jack, of Vineland, NJ. She is also survived by five beloved nieces and nephews and their families as well her dedicated and caring friends.
