Charles Frederick (Chuck) Norman (85) of Deltona, FL went to be with the Lord on Thursday April 18, 2024 after complications associated with Parkinson’s Disease. Charles was born October 12, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky. He spent his childhood in South Miami, Florida then served in the U. S. Navy as an aircraft mechanic from August 1957 through January 1963, receiving a perfect attendance award. He met the love of his life, Wanda (Wendy) Ingram in Los Angeles, California in December of 1961 when set up on a blind date by mutual friends, and the two were married a few months later on March 24, 1962. They immediately began to build their family. After his discharge from the navy, Charles began working for IBM. In 1966, he relocated his small family to South Florida. Charles retired from IBM after 35 years, then later again from the South Florida Library System (Ft. Lauderdale branch) after 10 years.
Charles is preceded in death by his loving wife Wendy, his parents, Helen Cravens and Paul Raymond Norman, stepfather Charles Cravens, and three brothers James Norman, David Norman, and Michael Norman. He leaves behind 3 children, Teresa (Paul) Szupello, Ed Norman, and Debbie Norman; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and his beloved Maltipoo, Molly. Charles was a devoted husband, father and Papa who loved spending time with his family and friends. He dedicated his life to making everyone around him feel happy, loved, and accepted. He was an amazing son, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Services will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Deltona Memorial Gardens, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM and a committal service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
