Carmen Maria Martinez

Carmen Maria Martinez, 81, passed away on April 19, 2016 in Deltona, Florida. Carmen was born on January 11, 1935 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico to Obdulio and Adelina Gonzalez. She lived in Puerto Rico until the age of 15 when she moved to New York. In 1993 she moved down to Spring Hill, Florida. She resided there until 2012 when she became ill and moved to Deltona, Florida to live with her son and daughter-in-law.

Carmen was always known for her bright and kind smile. She enjoyed dancing, especially salsa dancing, birds, gardening and cooking. She loved being surrounded by family and friends and always seemed to have a house full of people.

Carmen Martinez is predeceased by her sons Jorge Martinez and Jose Martinez (wife Valerie who is survivng), her daughter Alejandrina Martinez, her brother William Perales and her sister Esthel Perales. She is survived by her sons Luis (Rosa) Martinez, William Martinez and Salvador Martinez and her daughters Maryann (Ricky) Barnes, Estrellita Martinez and Maria (Ignacio) Velez. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A visitation service will be held at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and again from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 10:00 am at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at Deltona Memorial Gardens.
