I did not know Pete but was stationed with his father in Hawaii. I would appreciate any information about Carl Willard senior. He was a true friend and I'm sure passed to Pete his honor, humor, and faith.

Words can not describe the pain and sorrow that was felt when I heard about Pete's passing. I was hired in April 1990 and after FTEP training, I was lucky to get my first assignment as Delta 45 and my Sergeant was Pete aka Delta 14. For me personally and professionally, Pete is worth his weight in gold. I loved his quick wit,and gentle good humor. I could never put a price on his friendship, and I will cherish those memeories. 
I know that Pete is in God's presents and it is my prayer that he will hold Monica and the familey in the palm of his hand. I hope when this life is ended for me, that I will see Pete again, in a place where there is no pain and no sorrow. May God grant you peace Sir.

You all know how much we loved Pete and each of you. From the first day I met Pete in 1975 in rookie school and all through our time with VCSO he was one of the best fathers,cops,funny man, and all around person I have ever had the pleasure to be associated with.  I will cherish all of the memories of the good times we had on the job, in the Keys, our Alaska trip, oysters parties, times at Randy and Tammys, and all of the other good times we shared.  The Magic Bus, the Scrod Mobile, the boat with all the stickers, Pete's "stuff in a cup", all of the funny stories and good times we shared. I hope these memories will help in this time of healing. Pete was a Corporal and my first supervisor when I came aboard as a JSO in 1987.And later he was a Sgt and I was promoted to Dep II where we worked together on Delta shift in Deltona.Pete had a humor that was contagious,he helped us all see the lighter side of our work.I will always remember Pete as one the best cop and supervisor Ive had the priviledge of knowing.The world will be smaller without him.My sincere condolenses to his family.

I was totally speachless when I receieved word about Pete. Personally my heart broke. Pete was my first Sergeant when I came to work for the Sheriff's Office in 1990. Pete's management style made it easy for me coming back into law enforcement. It was that mamnagement style of knowing that Pete had your back,especially when it came to frivolous complaints when you were doing your job. And it is for this reason that I will eternally be in his debt.
It is my prayer, that God will hold Monica and the Willard family in the palm of his hand.
