Brian L. Oakes

Age, 64 passed away on December 26, 2013 at Hospice of Volusia/Flagler in Orange City, FL. Brian had an ongoing battle with many illnesses this year, following the loss of his wife of 43 years Patricia Oakes.

Brian and Patricia moved to Florida in 1978 from Buffalo, Ny following the blizzard of 1977. They joined family members of Patricia in Florida, sister Joann Clark (husband Jim) and brother, Pete Graver (wife Joanne). His parents Leslie and Geraldine Oakes moved to Florida to join them a couple of years later.

Brian and Patricia lived and worked in Orlando for many years, then moved to Deltona, Fl in 1988. They bought their dream house and moved in on their wedding anniversary of April 7th 1988.

Brian worked as a manager in the rental car business for many years before retiring early due to heart disease in the late 90's. He enjoyed every moment with Patricia, whether it was watching her working in the garden, or solving the worlds problems over coffee every morning. They had 3 cats that they referred to as their babies. He is now happily along her side again in heaven.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Oakes, and 1 sister Sharon Johnson.

Services will be held at Hospice later in January and to be announced at a later date.
