Beverly Lucille Fredrickson was born May 23, 1934, in Moline, Illinois to Wallace and Martha (née Kron) Fredrickson. She attended John Deere Jr. High and Moline Sr. High School. Bev went to nurses’ training for a brief time but found that wasn’t the career meant for her. She got a job at Montgomery Elevator Company, where she met her future husband Howard Allan Hammerstrom. They were married June 1, 1957 and lived happily together for 65 years when Howard passed away September 26, 2022.
Beverly had many friends and was involved in many community activities including Kings Daughters, Tops, and PTA. She also was a Sunday School teacher at Salem Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. Bev and Howard also married there. During these years, she volunteered as a Brownie leader and a Cub Scout Den mother. After their move to McKinney, Texas in 1979, she was always available to babysit for neighborhood children who were home sick or had a school vacation.
She is survived by her daughter Connie Jo Keeling (John ) and her son Kent Hammerstrom (Cindy). Beverly is also survived by her grandchildren Shannon, Jennifer-Jo, Anders, Aaron and William.
