Alice K. Sanders

Age 90 of Orange City, Florida, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014. Alice was born August 2, 1923, the daughter of John Wallace Kerns and Mary Hunter Kerns. She grew up in a large family of seven brothers and sisters: Wallace, Olin, Henry, Thomas, Elizabeth, Mary Ida and Minnie Lee. She was raised on a farm in Huntersville, North Carolina. She enjoyed sewing, country cooking, and later in life passed the time working crossword puzzles. She also was a working mom. She attended college in Asheville, North Carolina and Carolina Business College in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was an excellent office manager and bookkeeper for her late husband, Ernest Sanders and also worked in the office of retail businesses. Alice was a member of First Baptist Church. Alice married Ernest Sanders in the late 1940's. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Sullivan, 2 grandchildren, Travis and Teresa, and 4 great grandchildren, Ryan, Ashley, Hunter and Teagan.

Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, July 30, 2014 from 11 am - 12 pm at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, where a funeral service will follow at 12 PM. Burial will follow services in Deltona Memorial Gardens, Orange City, Florida
