Ronald "Hondo" Lee Hollinger Sr.

Ronald was born October 7, 1944 in Mansfield, Ohio. He was the son of George and Jeannette (Louvis) Hollinger. He was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School in the class of 1963. He retired in 1995 from AK Steel. A man of God, Ronald always put God first in his life. He could always be found witnessing and ministering to others and sharing God’s word through Bible Study. Very athletic, Ronald enjoyed sports; loved softball, golf and bowling and in his earlier years was a pitcher. Ronald truly embraced retirement and lived his best life with his family on family trips to Lake Erie and Canada. He loved making memories and spending quality time together.

Ronald is survived by his children, Valerie Gue, Ron Jr. (Carrie) Hollinger, and David (Kitty Spartman) Hollinger; his grandchildren, Tony (Amy) Fix, Brandon (Leah Mitchell) Fix, and Austin (Micayla Walters) Hunt; step-grandchildren, April Lozier, Stephen Lozier Jr., and Gary Lozier; his great-grandchildren, Abigail, Trinity and Aurora Fix; his sister, Nora “Cookie” (John) Kron; sister-in-law, Brenda Hollinger; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Paul Hollinger.

Family and friends may visit from 1:00-2:00 pm on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington Springmill. Funeral services will follow immediately at 2:00 pm. He will privately be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park.
