Robert Taylor, age 92, of Mansfield, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born Robert Russell Taylor on April 29, 1930, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Katherine (Stoner) and John Taylor.
Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving as an airplane mechanic. He retired from Mansfield Screw Machine after many years of service. Robert loved the Lord and enjoyed attending church.
He never met a stranger and could have a conversation with anyone he met. Robert enjoyed fishing and cooking. Watching the Cleveland Indians and NASCAR were a favorite pastime. Robert was a loving father and grandfather who cherished time spent with his family. His legacy of unconditional love and devotion will long be remembered.
Robert is survived by four children, Grant (Connie) Taylor of Mansfield, Ramone (Harley) Smith of Mansfield, Craig (Carol) Taylor of TX and Mark (Linda) Taylor of Mansfield; ten grandchildren, James, Pam, Tiffany, Marjoe, Gabrielle, Justin, Amber, Jordan, Eric and Ryan; eighteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary B. Taylor; son, Robert Taylor; grandson, Mike Taylor; and brother, Charles “Ed” Taylor.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2022, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with his grandson, Pastor James Taylor and Pastor Jay Hill officiating. He will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park beside his wife. Memorial contributions may be made to Paradise Church Building Fund.
