Robert Eugene Brewer, 76, of Galion, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in Port Charlotte, Florida. Robert was born on February 25, 1949, in Bucyrus, Ohio to the late Clifford and Nellie Brewer.
He was a proud veteran of the US Navy. Robert was a loving, outgoing, and hardworking man who dedicated his life to his family, friends, and community. Always generous and busy, he was known for his kindness, his tireless work ethic, and his eagerness to lend a hand. He had a deep bond with his neighbors and was often seen tending his yard or helping care for the local park. He cherished time spent with his late wife Di and his family, especially their yearly trips to the Outer Banks. In recent years, he enjoyed his trips with his partner, Judy, to Punta Gorda, Florida. He enjoyed breakfast at Granny’s Kitchen with the guys, playing Euchre, and had recently begun taking dance lessons. Robert’s homemade zucchini bread and legendary salsa were family favorites. A proud Navy veteran, Robert graduated from Galion High School and retired from PPG after 40 years of dedicated service. He was a proud member of the Ontario Lions Club, Galion Elks, AMVETS, VFW, and served on the Zoning Commission for Sandusky Township. Robert’s presence, warmth, and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his kindness, his energy, and the love he shared so freely.
Robert is survived by his two sons, Chad (Kerry) Brewer and Brad (Kristy) Brewer; eleven grandchildren, Tayler (Nick) Flowers, Ciarra (Jordan) Wiseman, Julia, Maria, Cecilia, Eli, Jaelyn, Brevyn, Emily, Tryston and Kali; two great grandchildren, Ryan and Bailee; his partner, Judy Perry; siblings, Beverly (Tom) Mathis and Patty (Tim) Secrist; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded by his wife of 46 years, Diana “Di” L. (Schindler) Brewer; and his brother, Randy Brewer.
Family and friends may visit on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with military services by Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Squad at the funeral home prior to the graveside service at Ontario Cemetery.
