Born Constance Ellen Breen on May 12, 1950, she was one of six children of the late Paul William and Mary Loretta (Bickert) Breen. Connie grew up in Madison Township and graduated from Madison High School with the Class of 1968. She enjoyed exploring her creative and artistic talents and, in her younger years, painting was her outlet. Growing up in a large family, Connie knew the advantages of hard work and was a shining example for others. She had several jobs over the years including working 20+ years at Kmart, and at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital which fit well with her amiable personality. She was very personable and excelled in customer service—she was always ready with a smile and a solution. Connie was a huge fan of the Cavaliers, Guardians, and Ohio State Buckeyes.
In the summer you could find Connie at the Ashland pool with her sister and friends. Known for her bright blonde hair, she relished lounging by the pool and wanted to have a dark tan which provided a vast contrast with her hair. Connie loved being her grandchildren’s biggest fan, attending their sports, music and school events with a glow of pride emanating from her.
She is survived by two children, Terry (Joanna) Barre and Shannon (Jawaun) Irving; five grandchildren, Jasmine Westerfield (Levi Hildebrand), Abby (Brad) Wenninger, Jawaun Irving II, Jaliah Irving and Nathan Barre; two great-grandchildren, Augustine Hildebrand and Brantley Wenninger; all her siblings, Denny (Sandy) Breen, Pat (John) Morrow, Mike (Jackie) Breen, Lorrie Breen and Bonnie Green; and several close friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road.
