Ryan Robert Gehr, 27 of Chino died June 20, 2016 in Chino. He was born April 11, 1989 in San Antonio Hospital in Upland, California and lived in Chino, California his entire life. Ryan graduated from Chino High School in 2007 and from UC Santa Barbara with a single subject Teaching Credential in History and Social Science in 2012. His studies allowed him to instruct English learners at all grade levels. Ryan maintained a 4.0 average in all courses. His area of expertise was the Middle East and Afghanistan. He introduced his students to Malalai Joya, “A Woman Among Warlords”, as an example of a person who would not compromise her democratic principles.
Ryan had multiple workplaces over the last four years. He completed over 10 long term assignments as a contract substitute teacher for the Chino Valley Unified School District. Ryan also worked for the City of Chino Community Services Department, Senior Center, and Preserve where he has many friends and acquaintances.
He is survived by his parents Robert K. Gehr and Brooke T. Gehr and his brother Alexander.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at the Chino Community Center, 5443 "B" Street, Chino, California 91710 on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 1:00 PM.
