Rosemary McNally Hill, was born Rosemary Bernadette McNally on May 5, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio. She died peacefully at her home in Rancho Cucamonga on Monday August 6, 2012. She was 91 years old. She graduated from North Olmsted High School in North Olmsted, Ohio and St. Alexis School of Nursing, Northwestern University, Ohio. She was the daughter of John Francis McNally and Mary Claret (Tantz) McNally. She was the 7th of 10 children. She joined the Navy Nurse Corp in 1943 and served as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy during WWII. She met and married Robert R. Hill II, 1st Lieutenant in U.S. Marine Corps on December 16, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland. They lived in Oahu, Hawaii; Saipan, Marianas Islands; Maryland, Florida, Pomona and Claremont for 7 years; and was a resident of Rancho Cucamonga for the last 41 years. She worked at Lanterman State Hospital for 25 years. Upon retirement she served on the Grand Jury in San Bernardino County, taught nursing courses, volunteered at Catholic Charities and helped in various capacities in several parishes in the Cucamonga area. She was preceded in death in by her husband of 51 years and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sister Norma Burgan of Baltimore, Maryland, and brother, James P. McNally of Columbus, Ohio; her children Kathleen Arriola of Saipan, Marianas Islands and husband Ned Arriola, Barbara J. Hill of Lemoore, California and husband Terry J. Norris, Robert R. Hill III of Victorville and wife Karen, and James Hill of Rancho Cucamonga and wife Christine. Grandchildren include; James Arriola, Theresa (Isa) Arriola, Arthur Nelson, Nicolay Nelson, Mary Kathryn Norris, Robby Hill, Brett Hill, Steven Hill and Savannah Hill. Step- grandchildren include; Kari Eagle, Katie Eagle, Martin Del Rosa, Paula Banke , Bobby Banke. She is also survived by numerous other relatives.
Friends and Family may attend the Prayer Vigil at Draper Mortuary in Ontario, from 6-8 p.m. on August 15, 2012. Funeral Services will be August 16th at 10 a.m. at San Secondo d’Asti in Guasti . Interment is at 1:30 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery.
