Margaret Florence Mead

Margaret Florence Mead, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, age 89, of Ontario, California, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 10, 2015, by her daughter’s side in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

She was born on January 09, 1926 in Upland, California to Florence Lucille and Philip Charles Dowse.

Mom met the love of her life and future husband at the American Legion and married at Camp Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Together they raised four daughters and enjoyed 65 wonderful years together. She was a gifted homemaker and made a home where all were accepted and loved. She was an excellent seamstress, gardener and loved to travel – especially to Hawaii.

She is survived by her four daughters, Carrol Renee` and Terry Brown, Denice Suzanne and Timothy Posey, Debra Lynn Mead, Pamela Sue and Richard Krull, brother, William Dowse, sister, Barbara Cross, seven grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren. The family is extremely grateful for all the tender care Margaret received from her compassionate caregivers during this long journey.

Proceeded in Death her beloved husband, Donald Herbert Mead, parents, Florence Lucille and Philip Charles Dowse, brother, Philip Dowse, grand- daughter, Heidi Elizabeth Wilcox and son-in-law Arthur Nichols.

Close friends and family may pay their respects at the gravesite dedication, located at Oak Park Cemetery in Claremont, California.
