In August 1953, the Ferguson family relocated to Ontario, California, where Linda spent her formative years. After the passing of her beloved parents in 1987 and 1988, Linda moved to Rubio, California, to live with her sister, Teddy McKee. In October 1989, Linda and Teddy relocated to Fort Smith, Arkansas, and later, in 2002, settled in River View, Florida. Linda’s final home was in Yucaipa, California, where she moved in March 2012.
Linda was a cherished member of her family and is remembered as a sweet, loving soul. She is survived by her eldest sister, Judy McKay, and middle sister, Teddy McKee. She also leaves behind five nieces—Lynn Graham, Della Hall, Ellen Haynes, Ann Nensel, and Sarah Rice—and three nephews—James Ferguson, Jr., Keith McKee, and Paul McKee—along with 25 grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Ferguson, in May 2021.
Born with intellectual disabilities, Linda’s life revolved around her family, who were her greatest joy. She touched everyone’s heart with her warm greetings and kind demeanor, always offering a kiss hello and goodbye. Linda adored Elvis Presley and enjoyed creative pursuits such as painting ceramics, felting, and cross-stitching—her favorite craft. She found delight in simple pleasures, like wrapping her favorite foods in tortillas. Linda was a dedicated viewer of General Hospital, a show she loved watching daily, and had a special bond with pets, especially Penny the Poodle.
Linda shared a close and loving relationship with her mother, Florence, cherishing the time they spent together. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her parents and brother, free from pain and embraced by the peace of Heaven.
Linda’s legacy of love, sweetness, and family devotion will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered as she now resides in eternal joy with Jesus.
