Linda Lee Deitrick was born in Syracuse, New York on June 4, 1958 to loving parents Leona Stewart and Joe Deitrick. She was the youngest of three, baby sister to Joe and Mary. She moved from New York to California when she was 5 years old. Linda had one son, Carlos, and twin daughters, Nacole and Kimberly. She was a hardworking single mother, oftentimes holding more than one job to ensure her children had everything they needed. She was also a grandmother to Carlos Jr. and Cheyenne, and she loved and adored them to no end. In her lifetime, Linda worked as a Sunday school teacher, a nurse’s assistant, a bank teller, a bartender, and most recently, as a supervisor for a bill collection agency. She loved her job because it enabled her to do one of her favorite things: argue with people. She worked her last job for around 20 years, and made several friends there that she held very dear to her heart. She enjoyed playing online poker, watching Judge Judy and cooking shows. She loved animals, which is why it sometimes seemed like she was running a zoo. She loved chocolate, especially Tootsie Rolls, they were her favorite candy. Everywhere Linda went she made people smile and laugh. She would oftentimes sing and dance to bubble gum oldies, but her favorite was country western music. Linda loved Reba and Patsy Cline. She had a “tell-it-like-it-is” attitude, a sarcastic personality, and she was bold and brave in the face of any situation. Linda passed away, surrounded by loved ones on November 18, 2014, and she will be remembered forever as a strong, funny, happy, loving, beautiful person with a huge heart.
