Born in 1912 in Hayter, Alberta, Canada, Lillian received her teaching credential at Camrose Normal School in Alberta in June 1934. She taught at a little one-room school at Bull Creek, Alberta, until she married Harry Stanley Lloyd on July 29, 1937, in Calgary, Alberta. After Stanley served in the Canadian Army during WWII, they moved to Kimberley, British Columbia, until 1957 when they moved to Ontario, California. In 1979, Lillian, then a widow, moved to Laguna Beach where she resided until December 2013.
Lillian was a loving and devoted mother to her three children (Terry, Linda [Eric], and Janie); grandmother to Brian, Tony, Karen, and Sara; great grandmother to Heather, Hannah, Anthony, Amanda, Kira, and Lilliana; and great-great grandmother to Caleb. She was one of six siblings and is survived her sister, Rita Wentzel, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Lillian enjoyed being a homemaker keeping a spotless home, maintaining a beautiful yard filled with roses, and preparing wonderful meals for all the family gatherings, which she did until the age of 101. She was the core of her family, loved and adored by all, and will be forever missed.
Lillian loved the Lord teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, and providing the floral arrangements for Sunday services for 22 years at the Community Baptist Church in Ontario, California. When she couldn’t attend church in later years, she listened to sermons on television and read the Bible from cover to cover at least seven times.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016, from 10:30 am - 11:30 am at Bellevue Memorial Park, Ontario, California. Prior to the graveside service, an informal commemoration will be held from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. at the Draper Mortuary chapel.
