Leon "Jack" Dunn was born on June 7, 1942 in Almyra, Arkansas. He was the second child of 4 children born to Solomon and Lula Belle Dunn. Leon was baptized at a young age while still in Arkansas. He attended and graduated from Immanuel High School in Almyra, Arkansas. After graduation, Leon moved to Los Angeles, California, and was employed at Western Gillette Trucking Company.
On September 24, 1965 Leon was united in marriage to Jeweline "Penny" Dunn. To that union, one son, Leon Devore was born. As an Owner-Operator and Independent Truck Driver, Leon enjoyed driving and providing a comfortable home for his family. Leon was a loving father to his son and a dedicated husband for 46 years.
He departed this life on Friday, December 29, 2017. He leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Leon Dunn; two grandchildren, Britani Samantha and Elijah Alexander Dunn; three sisters, Nona Woods; Norma Thompson and Brenda Jenkins; one brother, Bennett Dunn; and a host of other family members, relatives and friends.
Leon was such an amazing and friendly man who warmed the hearts of everyone he met.
