Leo went home to be with our Heavenly Father on January 4, 2012. After several surgeries on his lung, many new treatments, six weeks in the hospital, his final 4th and final surgery was on December 29, 2011. He fought a courageous battle but was ready to go to his heavenly home. Lee prayed day and night that our loving God would take him home. He knew he had strong willed children and he knew his loving wife of 54 years, Jo, would help them stay strong. He was so proud of all of his family. Lee was born to Chris and Faye Madson of Eldora, Iowa. Both Chris and Faye passed on in 1981. Lee leaves behind his sweetheart of 54 years, Joshie (Jo), children; Eddie, Shirley, Barbara- Eds wife who never seemed less than our daughter to us, Our grandchildren; Michael, Katie and Luis and our greatgrandson Daniel, who is the son of Katie and Luis. They will bless us again in April with a great granddaughter, little Alicen Joshie. Lee had many friends, some are already in Heaven, what a time they will have. Lee loved to fish and hunt, he loved to take the kids and grandkids on fishing trips. The whole family enjoyed fishing, but Eddie and Lee really enjoyed hunting. Lee was a family man and proud of his family. He also had a beautiful, well groomed yard and a vegetable garden. Lee was eager to give vegetables and fruit to his friends, neighbors and family. Lee was a very hard worker all his life so he could provide a better life for his family. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations to the Upland Christian Church, or the American Lung Association.
