Layla was born on March 4, 1999 in Upland, CA and passed unexpectedly on October 11, 2020 in Chino at the age of 21. She is survived by her parents, Robert and Leila Auer, and brother Robby of Chino, grandparents George and Patricia Martinez of Morro Bay, and Robert Anke of Claremont. She was preceded in death by her Grandparents William and Corrine Auer of Fontana and Grandmother Kathleen Anke of Claremont.
Layla attended primary school at Ontario Christian and Oxford Preparatory Academy. She attended Chino Hills High School and Chino High School where she was involved in Cheerleading, ASB and Dance Club. Layla was an Allstar Cheerleader at The Talent Factory in Chino from the age of 5. Cheering until she was 17, she finished competitive cheerleading with the California Allstars with whom she traveled to Florida, coming home with UCA World Championship awards.
After High School she attended Cal Poly Pomona and Chaffee College, taking courses toward a degree in psychology, hoping to someday become a social worker working with children. During that time she was employed by Victoria’s Secret, Windsor Fashions, and Limericks Tavern in Chino Hills.
Layla had a giving spirit, always willing to help a friend or family member in need. She had a smile that lit up a room and a heart that loved fiercely. She was a loyal friend and loving daughter. She will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.
Services:
Due to Covid-19 the service is private and limited to 10 people only. We are however able to invite more to say a final good-bye to Layla at a viewing where 10 people will be allowed in the room at one time. Toward this end we have divided up the viewing into two groups to try to minimize a large group showing up all at once and having to wait outside for a long time, observing social distancing. Please try to visit at the appropriate time whenever possible.

A Note from Bob & Leila:
Heaven gained another angel on Sunday morning, October 11th. We lost our baby girl, our gift of joy and love, and we are heartbroken.
Layla filled our lives with laughter, delight and pride and we will treasure our memories of her forever. Her absence has left a hole in our hearts that I fear will never be filled. The house is far too quiet in the middle of the night, when she would come home late after the guys were asleep. She’d want to talk about anything and everything...and talk and talk and talk... I’d have to stop her just so I could go to bed so I could get some sleep before work later that morning. Her fun-loving spirit and sparkling personality could always make us smile. Laylabug, you are our sunshine, and we cannot wait to hold you close again.
Thankfully, we have so many family & friends who have been such sources of strength and caring, reaching out with blessings, prayers, dinners and amazing donations. Thank you all.
