Joan Hutchinson

Joan Bernice Hutchinson age 89 of Ontario, California went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 21st, 2022. She was born in Burbank California to Roy and Lucile Polhemus on April 20th, 1933. Her one brother Kenneth Preceded her in death in 1953.

Joan attended Pacific Bible College for three years. She graduated from Upland College in 1958. Joan has lived in the Upland Ontario area since 1954.

Joan was married to James Manolis in 1953 and they adopted two children. This marriage ended in divorce in 1975.

In 1978 Joan remarried Robert O. Hutchinson.

Joan taught kindergarten for the Ontario-Montclair School District for 37 years. She continued to substitute teach until 2007. She received the Honorary PTA Life Membership award while a teacher at Kingsley School.

She was active in the Upland Brethren in Christ Church teaching Sunday School, serving on the Missions Board and was involved in the

Tape Ministry. She belonged to the Friendship Sunday School Class.

She is survived by (her husband, Robert,) and her daughter Michelle Padilla, five grandchildren, Anthony, Aaron, Jennifer, Christopher and Jasmine and her great-grandchildren. Her son Mark Manolis precedes her in death.
