California passed away on March 15, 2016
at his son’s home in Apple Valley,
California surrounded by his family.
He was born in Decatur, Illinois on January 11, 1931
to Jack and Margaret Franklin and lived in
Upland for 30 years. Dad, Papa, Grandpa,
Jack Franklin (the Label Man)
was a father of nine, Grandpa of 16,
and Great-grandpa of 18.
Our dad worked at M.K. Smith Chevrolet as a car
salesman from 1968-1975.
After this he went into the label business and has
for the last 40 years, been known as Jack Franklin,
the "Label Man", where he served local shops and
businesses in the greater Inland Empire.
He loved serving his customers and they in return
loved our dad as he cared so much about giving
them great service. He was dedicated to his
customers to the very end.Dad, Papa, Grandpa,
we all love you and we will see you soon.
Dad’s hobbies were photography and computers
and he was a real "techie". Jack is survived by five
daughter’s, Victoria and Jim Hunter of Klamath Falls,
Oregon; Cherie and Michael Schmidt of
Rancho Cucamonga,California; Carolyn Franklin
of Boise Idaho; Marilyn and Scott Steen of Skandia,
Michigan; and Amy Beth Franklin of Covina, California;
and two sons, John and Nancy Franklin
of Apple Valley, California; and Mark Franklin of
Piney Flats, Tennessee. He leaves his beloved
16 Grandchildren and 18 Great-grandchildren behind
to cherish his memory.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Evelyn;
and two sons, Michael Andrew and David Edward Franklin.
Visitation will be held at Draper Mortuary,
811 N. Mountain Avenue, Ontario,
California on March 21, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Graveside Service will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park,
1240 West G Street, Ontario, California
on March 22, 2016 at 11:00 am.
