Gary John Voorman, age 98, of Ontario, California passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024.
He is survived by his wife Lois Yvonne Voorman, and sons Steven Gary, Daniel Lee, and Gary Scott Voorman. He is preceded in death by his son Alan Dale Voorman, his sister Alida Kamp, brother James Voorman, and sister Doris Malefyt.
He was born in New Jersey to Tunis and Jenny Voorman. He served in Merchant Marines in World War II, attended Calvin College, where he met and married Lois Yvonne Poppen, on August 23, 1950. He attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan where he attained a Medical degree.
He was a General Practice physician in Vermont, then moved to Upland, California, where he obtained a degree in Psychiatry in San Bernardino State Hospital. He served many people as a psychiatrist for many years in private practice and in several hospitals.
