Esperanza Figueroa, mostly known by the English version of her... HOPE (and mom to Sandy and Tricia), was born on 1/21/1945, in San Antonio, Texas, and was one of eight children. In the late 50's, she moved to California. By 1965, Hope married Juvenal Figueroa. Hope's pride and joy were the birth of her daughter's Sandy and Patricia. And this is when Hope's life lit up to a level of love and her journey of motherhood began. Raised in a large family, Mom knew the importance of family love and faith in God. These elements were what Mom demonstrated all the days of her incredible life. She appreciated the simplicities of life and gave all the glory to God. Mom worked all her life (since a young teen) and retired in 2000 to devote her time to her grandchildren, Marisa and Dominic. Being at their birth and celebrating birthdays, holidays and all of their accomplishments is all she ever wanted and achieved. She was truly happy and fulfilled. Another big part of Mom's life was her love of music and dance. She loved all music, but her choice of dance music was anything that allowed her to dance to cumbias, salsa, mambos, and meregues. She was an incredible dancer and fortunately, Tricia and Sandy inherited her dance skills. Mom had so many people who loved her. She was truly the epitome of an empowered woman, and her persona was reflected onto her daughters and grandchildren. She will be missed here on earth, but she is at peace and was ready to see her Lord. An incredible woman, who taught lessons of life to those who paid attention; lessons in kindness, love and of course...HOPE.
