Delories Alexander was born to Freddie Lee and Ardis J. Mays Sr. on September 28, 1941, in Shreveport Louisiana. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Delories was the eldest of her four siblings. Her only sister, Cora Lee (who preceded her in death), Her brother Charles, (who preceded her in death) and two additional brothers, James and Randy. Delories graduated from Freemont High School and continued her education at Los Angeles City College. In 1959 Delories married her first love, Alvin Alexander. To that union came her only son, Alvin DeVonne Alexander and her only daughter Sharlene Yvonne Young. Delories became employed with the USC Medical Center and continued her career for 31 years before retiring in 1998. Delories was always very strong, proud, very private and independent. She was extremely devoted and loved by her family dearly. Delories leaves to cherish her memory her son, DeVonne, her daughter Sharlene, granddaughters Symone and Joslyn, Grandsons Christopher, Robert Jr., and DeVonne Jr., great granddaughter Melanie, Nieces Debbie, Robin and Christina (preceded in death), nephews Gerald, Randy, Semaj and a host of great nieces and nephews, and friends.
